1. Pre-Order Payment Options
We realize pre-orders can occur months in advance. To give you maximum flexibility, we offer two ways to reserve your items:
- Pay in Full: Lock in your purchase immediately at checkout to completely secure your manufacturer allocation.
- Partial Pay / Pay on Arrival: No payment is generally necessary until the item arrives at our warehouse and is ready to ship. Select your preferred payment method (including PayPal) at checkout. You have the option to change your payment method at any time before the item arrives.
Once the item lands at our Vermont warehouse, we will process your order and automatically charge your chosen payment method.
For Partial Pay & Residual Fees:
- Once items arrive in stock, payment requests for any residual fees will be sent out.
- Residual fees must be paid within 7 days of the payment request.
- If unpaid after 7 days, your purchase will be canceled. All partial fees will be fully reimbursed, unless the partial fee was a Non-Refundable Deposit (NRD). [1]
2. Non-Refundable Deposits (NRD)
Some of Nerd Urbanity's high-value collectibles may require a non-refundable deposit.
- These items will be clearly marked with a stipulated NRD.
- It is the buyer's responsibility to be cognizant of the required non-refundable payment involved.
- If you cancel or return an NRD item, the deposit portion will not be reimbursed or refunded.
3. Pre-Order Cancellations
- Standard Pre-Orders (Non-NRD): Customers have the option to cancel at any time before the item ships from our warehouse for a full 100% refund.
- NRD Pre-Orders: If you wish to cancel a pre-order that required a non-refundable down payment, you must contact Nerd Urbanity customer service directly to complete the cancellation. The non-refundable down payment will be forfeited.
4. Arrival Notices & Managing Your Orders
- Arrival Notifications: When possible, Nerd Urbanity will send out a notification that a pre-order is arriving soon. This allows you to review your selected payment method, shipping address, and shipping method before your order is processed.
- Updating Your Info: We may not be able to provide notice for all incoming items, as we are dependent on vendor alerts. Any updates to your shipping or billing information should be updated as soon as possible by opening your account page or emailing us directly.
5. Estimated Arrival Dates & Delays
Every product lists an expected arrival date. We check in with our vendors constantly to ensure this information is up to date, updating our listings and your account profile as changes happen.
While we work to ensure accuracy, the toy industry frequently experiences logistics and manufacturing delays. Therefore, Nerd Urbanity’s expected arrival date is an estimate only, and there are no guarantees of when a pre-ordered product will come into stock.
We cannot provide compensation for late or canceled pre-ordered products. We highly recommend that customers plan gift or special occasion purchases well in advance. [1]
6. Pre-Order Pricing & Tariff Protection
Due to the nature of pre-sales, pricing may sometimes change after a product is listed.
- Price Reductions: If the market price of a pre-order is reduced, your order price will be adjusted downward to match the lower rate.
- Price Increases & Tariffs: In rare cases where exact vendor pricing isn't initially provided, or if higher United States tariffs are imposed, a price increase may happen. In this event, we will contact you directly. You will have the opportunity to accept the new rate or decline the purchase for a full 100% refund (including any NRD funds paid).
7. Pre-Order Shipping & Fulfillment
- Shipping Fees: Shipping fees shown at checkout for pre-orders are estimates. We do not always know the exact weight or product dimensions at the time a product is listed.
- Fulfillment: Once pre-ordered items arrive, we work diligently to ship them out as quickly as possible. If circumstances outside of our control cause a delay, we will notify you immediately. [1, 2]
- Cancellations by Nerd Urbanity: If Nerd Urbanity cannot fulfill a pre-order due to manufacturer shortfalls or allocations, we will cancel the order and notify you as soon as possible. A full refund will be issued, but no additional compensation will be provided for the inconvenience.

A few individuals may attempt to use our pre-ordering system to hold specific items in an effort to artificially inflate market rarity, manipulate prices, or withhold stock to boost their own secondary sales.
The staff at Nerd Urbanity is dedicated to our collecting community, and we will not tolerate system abuse. If we determine a customer is abusing the system, we reserve the right to require an upfront non-refundable down payment or full payment for every future pre-order by that customer, or institute a lifelong ban from our store
